The first step that you must take if you want to make money online consistently, is to build your targeted list of customers. These will be the individuals who will become the foundation of your business. In order to achieve this, you are going to need a what is called a “squeeze page”.

What exactly is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is synonymous with an “opt-in page” or a “landing page”. The purpose of this page is twofold. The first purpose is to enable a visitor to provide you with their name and email address so that you can market to them in the future. The second purpose is to convince your visitor to provide you with their name and email address. Essentially, you will be doing this by giving you visitor something of value.

How can you be so convincing that you can convince a visitor to provide their email address to you without having an actual conversation with them? Simple, you offer the visitor something that they want which must be delivered via email. For instance, I am going to assume that you know the importance of marketing to your niche. In other words, you want to market to those who will be most interested in what you have to offer. What better way to convince a niche visitor to provide you with their email address than to offer something to them of value at no cost. This something of value can be a free report, software, an eBook, a newsletter, etc.

Just for a small bit of trivia. Do you know why this web page is referred to as a squeeze page? Just reckon about it for a moment. You are putting the squeeze on your visitor. Unless they provide you with their name and email address, they are getting nothing. You are putting the squeeze on them by giving them the choice. Provide the email address and receive something of value at no cost. Or do not provide the email address and receive nothing of value, at an opportunity cost.

Okay, so we now know both the purpose and origin of a squeeze page. The next question is how can you get one for business. The nice thing is that a squeeze page is no different that any web page, therefore, if you have a program such as Dream Weaver, you an make one for yourself. But, there are some better options which I can reckon of. After all, we are here to make money online, not design websites.
