MLM Training – Is It Needed?
Multi-Level Marketing is MLM. It has many other names like Network marketing, direct selling, referral marketing and pyramid selling. MLM is a marketing strategy used by some companies. This makes a down line of distributors/promoters and a hierarchy of many compensation levels in a pyramid form. The company products are marketed directly to consumers and potential business partners by relationship referrals and word of mouth marketing. You may heard of these globally recognized MLM companies: Avon, Oriflame, Amy Global (Quixtar), Kleeneze etc.
The success of a MLM business is dependent on n how you do the marketing. When you become a MLM distributor, your success is directly related to your marketing skills and techniques. You will suffer huge losses if you don’t have marketing expertise. In Reality most new MLM marketers don’t receive marketing training which is crucial. When you advertise yourself or your business to the right group of people who are looking for the product/services you are offering, that is marketing. Many of them are told to make a list of 100 contacts and then talk to each of them. Often its a waste of time when people are not interested in the products/services they are offering. Using this method can lead to few or no sales and discouragement, often to the extent that the distributor will quit the business opportunity. So training is very vital as guidance on how to do marketing of your business or products in a successful way.
Most MLM companies tell you that you need to train your teams but do very small to show you or teach you how to do this. They leave this up to individual distributors and since so many do not have expertise in this very few are successful. This is one of the major reasons why only 3% network marketers are successful in making money and even less reach a level where they can do business full time. So without proper and right training, your business will be unsuccessful.
When you first enroll in most MLM businesses you will told by your upline that they will train you and all you have to do is follow them. Fact is most of them are not successful and often what they do can’t be applied to all distributors, so the training they offer will have small value for you. One classic example of this is a high energy sales person that just lights up the room when they walk in. Often these people can enroll lots of distributors just from their energy but since what they do is not your style or personality, what they teach you on how to enroll people has small or no value to what you can do.
This is the problem that many MLM marketers encounter when they join the industry. You will get fantastic results if you can work with a marketing training team that will give detailed step by step instructions on how to market. In turn you can teach your own team. An average network marketer stays in business for 63 days. You can show them that they can make money and can stay in the business for a long time , by giving them a check before 63 days. It is therefore crucial that you work with your new team members to allow them to make some money a quickly as possible to help them gain momentum on their business and to keep them in the business for the long run.
You can be successful regardless of whether your upline has the required training. To learn on how to grow your business, you and your team should contact a third party training system. There may be nothing incorrect with the actual company or its compensation plot. You can be highly successful in your business even though it is one of the factors.
